Birthday letter to my mom.

Anyone who knows you mom knows what an amazing person you really are.
Words don't do any justice when I'm trying to express how thankful I am for you.
Those words feel too empty because it is not through words that you show me love and teach me how to be a better person. It is through your actions. The way that you love me, my husband and my child makes us better people by the mere fact that we get to be around you to experience it.
You are my best friend Mom.
Your stubbornness & repetition drives me batty.
But that stubbornness & repetition is contagious, ask my husband!
Your inability to keep your opinion to yourself hurts my head sometimes, but we always know where we stand with you. And I envy that straight forwardness.

I want to whisper to you and thank you over and over again.
And then tell you that I love you.

I love your phone calls that can never be just a second long.
I love you compassion for my family and all our endeavors in life.
I love you for continually loving dad and teaching me that true love exists.
I love you for teaching me what hard work is and how to appreciate the small things in life.
I love you for showing me how to be a mother, lover and friend.
But mostly, I want to say that..
Birthdays are time to celebrate life.
And your life is sooooo worth celebrating.

Ask either of your two granddaughters, they love you endlessly and that melts my heart over and over again!

Hugs & A million kisses,
From your farorite Daughter

My {grown up} Birthday List

My 24th Birthday is fastly approaching in less than ONE month & I'm not really one to be "all about me" on my birthday or for any occasion really, but considering I'm a SAHM now & treating myself to anything that is "all about me" is ordinarily out of the question, I've decided to make a list of a few things {okay, a lot of things} that would make me

    v  New gym shoes
    v  Haircut & color
v  Gift certificate to lululemon or simply some new gym clothes
v  A visit to a "highly recommended" tattoo salon to cover up an existing error with something nice & Avery related
v  A beautiful everyday necklace that has meaning! I’ve been asking for one of these for a few years
v  A boba carrier (Dying to own one of these, dying!!)
v  A Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag
    v  Some new tops

Of course I don't need any of these things, but as I was online browsing today I couldn't help myself but to wish that a thing or two on this list make it into my arms come August 17th!!!

Getting back in gear.

Me, the fitness loving guru healthy person that I am has hit an all-time low. Well, maybe that's a bit exaggerative! I've been so focused, stressed, & devoted to house searching & all other aspects of my life that I totally gave up on myself. When in reality, feeling good about myself, is what makes me function like a sane woman! I promise, just ask my husband; I haven't been that fun loving lady in a few weeks. Sure I would go to the gym Monday-Friday, my usual, but I would catch myself walking instead of running & even giving myself a break on the intensity factor. Along with feeling blah, I've gained back the 5lbs it took me months to lose. I vowed to myself that I would ALWAYS catch myself at a certain mark & never let it get carried away! I'm at my mark & I'm ready to focus. When I feel good, my family feels good! I really feel this way about life & I know a healthy/active lifestyle is intended for everyone, even my hubby (; Don't get me wrong I've been truly enjoying myself this last month or two. Sweets, sweets galore & really good home cooking! I mean that really good stuff that you crave your parents to make for months & months. I had it all! Which is fine, all things in moderation... although moderation wasn't on my bucket list lately! So I'm going to get my butt in gear, back on myfittnesspal, Jfunchion, add me! Stress makes me eat & lately I've been focused on the wrong things. My family is the only thing that matters in life. Here's to focusing on the moment, from here on out! I've also posted some pictures of this past weekend, it was probably one of our last times home for a long while & I'm okay with that!

You are growing so fast & I don't want you to get any taller or smarter, just yet! I am still totally obsessed with your little cuteness & this attitude you have gives me a glimpse of our future. I'm not ready for this big, smart, independent Avery! I want to cuddle my baby girl for just a bit longer, please! Last night, your daddy had to discipline you for the first time. You get very, very upset when you are held and want down; so you had to sit on his lap until you were calm & relaxed before you could go play again. After a half hour tantrum you calmed down alright & passed right the heck out in your daddy's arms. It broke my heart to see you so upset & confused. I don't want to be doing the wrong thing. I don't want to be disciplining you to early. I don't want to see you gasp for breath behind those tears. I don't want you to be sad. However, we know that your actions in public are becoming quite the issue & if we don't teach you to "chill," as your daddy would say, then we are in for some big trouble in our near future! You are just too darn cute for words & I know there is a sweet innocent little girl in there!

I love you Avery Anne,

Another weekend adventure.

 We spent Friday night & Saturday at my Aunt & Uncles cabin in Harrison, MI! Avery got extremely spoiled with a mini car ride! {don't start calling the cops people, It was 100 feet}
We went on a boat ride & ate delicious home cooked food! It was relaxing
& fun to get away for the night!

Yes, I just watermarked my dog!
We went home Saturday night with plans to go to the Bay City fireworks. It was the 50th anniversary & they were calling for a BIG SHOW! Well we made it there alright...tons and tons and tons of people with nowhere for this little girl to run! So we didn't stay long, but it was still quite the experience to say the least!

 Hello chubby face^
Uncle Devon & Leigha joined in on the fun too!
Another weekend flew by. I'm so glad to be making these memories with our little girl!

Awkward & Awesome Thursday| 4th of July Recap

You wanna know what was awkward? I'm in my car this morning driving to the gym to get my fitness on...that's awesome right! Well for some reason I felt under my arm and realized there is a random patch of hair that has probably been growing for a good 2 weeks without getting shaved. Under BOTH arms! {I won't lie this has happened before. My hubby loves to point this out!} So I do my cardio & choose to lift only the weights that don't make me raise my arms. All I can do is laugh about it at this moment! This wasn't the first & I'm sure it won't be the last time I do this!
However, on a good note it was pretty awesome to get a compliment on my leg definition today at the gym; I work my butt off lifting weights to get some kind of results. Until I notice the lady's eyes going from my caves to my tummy & then her eyes stop moving upward. Yes, I know it looks like I ate the TIRE of a Ford F-150.{Only truck I can think of} I must not be doing something right at the gym, that was just awkward people! Alright, what else is awkward. The length of my bangs. They are far to long to be considered cute anymore & not long enough for anything to be shoved off to the side, but it is pretty damn awesome that these bangs make you realize how fast your hair really grows! It's also very annoying that the bank has not called us back on our bid we put in on a house last week. It's getting very awkward to keep texting our real estate agent. Although, she kind of sucks at her job so I guess I'll just keep bugging her, it really is the only way to get answers. What's so awesome about this?? The support Bryce has given me the past week about buying our first home; he is so educated & smart with finances, construction & optimistic about where our future will take us! I am so thankful. The pictures we got from our 4th of July day trip yesterday are just awkward. I'm serious. It was hotter than hot out. I think I sweat from 8am-midnight, but boy did we have fun! It was an awesome day with close friends. We went up to my girlfriends parents cabin, ate awesome food all day, spent a few hours on their lake tubbing, laid in the sun & just relaxed. It was the good life! Avery had a blast, she loved their dog, she loved the boat ride & she really loved her freedom! I on the other hand loved the 3 hour nap she took!

It's been pretty awesome & awkward around here lately! I think life would be boring any other way!!!
Hope you all had an amazing 4th too! Were still hoping to fit in some fireworks this weekend!

What have I created.

Avery's THIRTEEN months now! This boggles my mind. Seriously, we are parents to a's a fact! Lately getting my daughter to eat has been a struggle. She went through this one month phase right after her first birthday where she would try everything and anything! She was eating a solid meal 3x a day & she was filling up on good hearty & healthy food. Balanced nutrition & variety is something I yearn for with my child. Yet, Its nearly impossible at this stage. Avery loathes food. She rarely eats & when she does its never something on the food pyramid. I'm not kidding. I've read this is a normal phase for some toddlers, but really??? All but one month of her life she has hated food; surely if you throw a sweet her way she'll eat it, but besides that NO fruits (except oranges), vegetables, or grains float her boat. Well EXCEPT, protein. I'm a protein fein & I think my daughter is one too. Let me list to you the foods she willingly eats: Scrambled eggs, my protein pancake, steel cut oats, peanut butter & cheese. That’s it. I mean thank gosh she will eat these healthy foods, but 5 things is not nearly a normal diet or a variety for that matter. I’m afraid to keep giving her the same foods & create this monster that won’t eat. Going out to eat is a nightmare still; food does not interest her one iota.

Moms, help a mom out!!!
How do I react to this & how doI feed my child. I should state, each meal I do give her what we prepared, but she want’s nothing to do with it. I will also throw out there if you give her anything with the popcorn flavor it will be gone in seconds & she certainly LOVES her milk still. She is getting 4 servings a day. Do I cut her milk back? Do I quit worrying? Do I just have a picky eater? I always thought children were picky because the parent created it. However I’m trying here people, I’m trying to prevent this!!!
Give me the 411 on your child's eating habits, your picky eaters, & your suggestions! I'm up for the challenge. Oh wait, I don't think she can get much pickier!

Yo I'm baaack!

Bryce left for a work trip to Arizona two Sundays ago & while he was only planning on being gone half the week, things changed ever so quickly & his stay got extended & so did our time at my parents house. We did a lot of visiting with both sets of grandparnets & some friends during our visit! We also went through a lot of teething & flat out crankiness or maybe, just maybe she missed her daddy as much as I did!
It was fun, yet i'm still so excited to be home & have my husband back! I did an awful job at taking pictures while I was gone & i'm mad at myself for that; here are a few that I was able to come up with from my phone.

We went to several parks during our visit!

Avery had nightly pool baths, it was so HOT!

We ate our fair share of treats
& Papa's good cookin!

We even managed to get the fake laugh out of Avery hundreds of times. She's pro at this now. I act like this is hard!!!(Video coming soon!)

Grabbed this chair at a garage sale $10
& worth every penny!

So we went swimming yesterday & had a cookout at my aunt & uncles house! It was just what we needed for a relaxing, yet semi eventful Sunday!
I know this post is pretty vague we acutally have a lot going on, were even bidding on a house at the moment, but I'll save all that hoopla for another day, another post!
I'm just happy to have some normalcy back! I haven't been to the Y in over a week & i'm really looking forward to my afternoon workout today!

Happy Monday Friends!
