We love the Y.

For the last eight months Avery & I have been going to the local YMCA during the daytime. Five days a week Avery gets to socialize with other children and I get my fitness on. A perfect time for this Momma to clear her mind & Avery absolutely loves the stimulation! She fell in love with not only the children, but the educators. {and I'm pretty sure they love her sweetness right back} I don't like to refer to them as a daycare, because they are much more: they interact with the children one-on-one, they craft with the older ones, sing and dance, and even show affection for each and every child. They pay attention to every child's needs and they know them like the back of their hand! Children younger than one have a time limit of one hour. So for months I had to make a routine in the gym that was pretty precise and quick. Plus an hour was really all she could handle for the longest time; it was like her breaking point of too much stimulation and nap time quickly followed. Suddenly this big girl is taking over the kids zone! She is never ready to leave when I get done working out. She is aloud two hours now in the kids zone since she is over the age of one and I have a hard time breaking my routine and extending it. However, I'm going to work a lot harder at taking more time for myself because this girl is NOT ready to head home after one hour! She used to run to me quickly with tired eyes and an exhausted little body, now she takes a glance at her Momma, smiles and runs back to her activities. It's so adorable and I'm really proud of her interaction skills! She is learning to share, play nice, and even communicate with other children. I wouldn't change this experience for the world! I worried that as a stay at home mom and not having many friends with children, that Avery would be lacking in childhood interaction, but this little girl was born a social butterfly!

Lately.

Avery has been quite the little trooper these days; here's what this little cutie has been up to!
  • She has been going to all of her daddy's softball games & it's been so hot!
  • She has been riding countless hours in the car, looking for houses & traveling. She hates this.
  • She has her 9th tooth & her 10th is pushing its way through! Molars are seriously no joke!
  • She used chalk for the first time at the Y this week & ate some of it too!
  • She went swimming in my girlfriends pool this past weekend & road on a boat!
  • She played with her niece this weekend! They are polar opposites & it's hilarious!
  • She is really into her books! Not so much the plot, but pictures and flipping pages are fun!
  • She attempts to ride Moose several times throughout the day, she looses every time.
  • She is sleeping like a champ!
  • She no longer goes down for nap or bed with milk.
  • She brushes her teeth every night. Well, we help a girl out!
  • She tries to sing now when music is playing. Its darling & her humming could put me to sleep!
  • She still strongly dislikes the high chair. Most days this is a battle.
  • She is in the full blown toddler stage & it's really fun!
  • She is trying to learn farm animals & their noises at the moment. Difficult task!
  • She is loving life! Throwing hissy fits, being a little diva & showing us her big girl attitude.
  • She is SO CUTE! I'm serious. Those big gaps between her teeth make me weak at the knees!!!!
Avery is a character lately & she is not shy around anyone!
We have ourselves a little girl with a ginormous personality!

His day.

Fathers Day did not consist of anything too "snazzle & pop,"
but we did spend it as a family and that is what matters.
We ate good food & ended our day on a boat for a short time.
All-in-all my husband rocks as a father & I'm glad there is a day to devote to him!
Avery, you are SO lucky to have such a good looking daddy
& I am SO blessed to have such a hunk of a husband!

Thank you for being an extremely hardworking dad.
Thank you for understanding how hard it is to be a SAHM.
Thank you for not letting me feel guilty about my career.
Thank you for (pretending to) listen to me...sometimes.

Thank you for helping me see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank you for encouraging me to see the positives.
Thank you for wanting more children.Someday.
Thank you for not giving up.
Thank you for letting me speak my mind, even when you disagree.

Our kind of love.

Lately Avery has been very found of her Daddy. It makes my heart explode with happiness! The excitement this girl brings to your family is unlike any other. She is God's greatest gift & sometimes I catch my self wanting more, thinking my heart has so much love to give; but to be honest these two are all I'll ever need!

Whose your lifeguard?

When I saw this quote I immediately thought of my life. By no means do I ever feel like I'm drowning in life, but by recognizing our weakness & strengths, it helps Bryce & I lean on one another. As a wife & mother, my strong vulnerability and sensitivity create space for others to explore their own paths more deeply. I want this out of my husband and my children. I am committed to bringing the principles of vulnerability and truth to my family. Being a mother is now one of my greatest joys. Opening my child's eyes to the possibilities in their lives is a sublime experience. I love seeing Avery grow daily & I love even more watching my husband grow as a father. Recognizing the beauty in motherhood, the creative powers of being a wife, & seeing my family's faces light up as they realize that the time to start feeling alive is right now. There is nothing in life worth waiting for, its about taking chances, stepping into the dark and there may even be times life gets a bit over your head & you feel like your drowning, but I am my husbands lifeguard & he is mine.  We are a family. I realize more and more that when one of us is down, the other is up walking on top of the water. It's balancing act& from the direct experience that stem from my families explorations, we find ourselves. This is what life's about, finding that person in your life that is worth saving. Whether it be your spouse & children, like it is for me, or someone else, there is always a reason to rise above the water.

Jayme

Major issue here.

Last night we were laying in bed and it was just eating away at my husband's soul that our room was a wreck. By wreck I mean, Laundry in baskets everywhere. It's hard to find what you need when it's not organized. I completely understand his frustration; he was not able to find what he was looking for and today was an important day for us. In anger he took it out on me because I am a SAHM and this partially should of been taken care of. By partially I'm suggesting that this is a nearly impossible task and makes me want to poke my eyeballs out. Let me show you what I mean...
Hubby's clothes take up an entire closet, 4 shelfs, underneath the tv & still fill 2 baskets...

My clothes take up an entire closet & 2 drawers.
(these closets are like teeny tiny people; that's another frustration just in itself!)

Keep in mind I threw out an entire bag of old clothes that neither of us wear anymore. So there goes like 20 articles of clothing right there. I did this a few week ago too.
Also realize we have a washer FULL of clothes that need a home.

It might look like we have a ton of clothes, but we don't. I promise. Bryce may have a few too many t-shirts and gym shorts, but we are actually lacking big time in the clothing department. We both could use an entire wardrobe make-over. We are holding onto clothes from years back, just so we don't spend more money.

So the problem I have is not keeping up with the washings, but it's folding the clothes, because after I do so they stay in laundry baskets on the floor. There is absolutely no more room to shove this clothes. The clothes in our closets are so snug that I don't think I could fit another hanger in there if I wanted to. We are out of room in our bedroom and actually everywhere in entire house. This my friends is a big reason I'm soooo excited that moving is in our near future!!!

Phew, glad that's off my chest; now I'm about to have a really good day!

Two things.

One.
So a few months back we bought Avery a potty. I did some research that suggested you have a potty for your child & every time you go into the bathroom to use it (if/when your child follows) you just simply tell them that is where they go potty. Never putting them on it or even getting them naked. Just casually telling them every so often that is where they go.
Well yesterday I was letting Avery have her daily dose of running the house naked & I had to go to the bathroom. She of course followed me into the bathroom watched me go and I said, "Momma's going potty here, you go there!" I sat her down on hers for the first time. I procceded to walk away and finish the dishes. As I walk back over, she is getting off her potty that is filled with pee!!!! No joke people! Then later after dinner I took her diaper off, sat her down on her potty and asked her if she had to go potty. She went! She actually stayed seated until she was finished! Then of course I did not put her diaper on right away & she walked over to the corner of the kitchen & pooped on the floor. Ohh well.... I'm still in shock, my one year old used the toilet! I had no intention to start potty traninng her until she was interested herself, could it really be time??? If not, I still have to mark this down in the "book of firsts!"

Change.

I needed a little change from my 'simple girl' look.
I LOVE my long blond hair, but I was ready for a little fun! Whatcha think!? It's just bangs, so this isn't permanent unless I let them be. However, I think there here to stay!

-Jayme

One thing on my mind.

You see all this... I want it all! With the thought of home buying in our near future I'm getting pretty excited to think design! Also, with all my pinterest inspired (diy) projects, i'm uber pumed to get my craft on! These finds are all from IKEA; mainly stuff for a toddler room, but a few cute things to accent a bedroom or living room! Ahh my mind is already going a mile a minute. I promise, i'm just browsing!

Our weekend.

Our weekend was calm. That's a first in a really, really long time.
We started to do some house hunting, that's an exciting process;
So I can't wait till were actually into the full swing of this!
My parents came up to Saginaw. We spent Friday evening
& most of the day Saturday with them &
my grandparents, in Frankenmuth.

We hung out, cooked out & celebrated their
61st Wedding Anniversary!!!
True love exists & they are living proof!
As the days, weeks, & months pass they continue to get older
& unfortunately have there fare share of health issues arising.
I am so happy to still have them in my life & in my family's life.
Time is precious. Time is raw. Time is priceless.
Don't waste it.

"Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time."
~ Jim Rohn

So pretty much we ate good food & enjoyed each
others company this weekend!
Sunday, just the three of us spent time as a family.
It was needed. Avery's personality has exploded lately.
She suddenly loves food & she is learning new things daily!
It's exciting & fun!

I have this feeling good things are coming our way.
I'm not sure what it is yet, but its just that feeling deep down.
I hope you all had an awesome weekend too!

Love,
Jayme
