A very special birthday

My grandpa turns 84 years old today, which completely blows my mind!! The past few years have been a downward spiral for his health, but this mans mind & soul are very much alive. He is still witty & charismatic, with a heart like a lion.  He is a very brave and bold man and although he may not be as strong and mighty at this day in age, I pray for his health and thank god each and everyday for his presence in my family. I wish him a great birthday today.

Birthday letter to my mom.

Anyone who knows you mom knows what an amazing person you really are.
Words don't do any justice when I'm trying to express how thankful I am for you.
Those words feel too empty because it is not through words that you show me love and teach me how to be a better person. It is through your actions. The way that you love me, my husband and my child makes us better people by the mere fact that we get to be around you to experience it.
You are my best friend Mom.
Your stubbornness & repetition drives me batty.
But that stubbornness & repetition is contagious, ask my husband!
Your inability to keep your opinion to yourself hurts my head sometimes, but we always know where we stand with you. And I envy that straight forwardness.
I want to whisper to you and thank you over and over again.
And then tell you that I love you.
I love your phone calls that can never be just a second long.
I love you compassion for my family and all our endeavors in life.
I love you for continually loving dad and teaching me that true love exists.
I love you for teaching me what hard work is and how to appreciate the small things in life.
I love you for showing me how to be a mother, lover and friend.
But mostly, I want to say that..
Birthdays are time to celebrate life.
And your life is sooooo worth celebrating. 
Ask either of your two granddaughters, they love you endlessly and that melts my heart over and over again!

My {grown up} Birthday List

My 24th Birthday is fastly approaching in less than ONE month & I'm not really one to be "all about me" on my birthday or for any occasion really, but considering I'm a SAHM now & treating myself to anything that is "all about me" is ordinarily out of the question, I've decided to make a list of a few things {okay, a lot of things} that would make me
BUST OUT OF MY SEAMS HAPPY!


v  New gym shoes
v  Haircut & color
v  Gift certificate to lululemon or simply some new gym clothes
v  A visit to a "highly recommended" tattoo salon to cover up an existing error with something nice & Avery related
v  A beautiful everyday necklace that has meaning! I’ve been asking for one of these for a few years
v  A boba carrier (Dying to own one of these, dying!!)
v  A Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag
v  Some new tops


Of course I don't need any of these things, but as I was online browsing today I couldn't help myself but to wish that a thing or two on this list make it into my arms come August 17th!!!
